VoiSome is a native Android voice reminder app. This Privacy Policy explains what data is processed by the app and how it is handled.
1. Core Privacy Approach
VoiSome is designed to work locally on your device. We do not run a backend for storing your recordings, and we do not sell personal data.
2. Data Stored On Your Device
When you use VoiSome, the following data is stored locally in app storage:
Voice recordings: Audio files you create in the app
Reminder metadata: Titles, reminder times, durations, and playback state
App settings: Reminder defaults, playback mode, snooze duration, and other preferences
This data is not uploaded to VoiSome servers because VoiSome currently has no cloud sync service.
3. Data We Do Not Collect
VoiSome does not collect or store on our servers:
Account registration data (no account required)
Your voice recordings
Advertising identifiers for targeted ads
Analytics profiles tied to your identity
Location data
4. Permissions and Device Access
Depending on Android version and your settings, VoiSome may request:
Microphone: Required to record voice notes
Notifications: Required to show reminder notifications
Exact alarms (Android 12+): Improves reminder timing reliability
Full-screen reminder pop-ups (Android 14+): Enables lock-screen reminder pop-ups
You can deny or revoke permissions at any time in Android Settings. Some features may stop working if required permissions are denied.
5. Foreground Service and Reminder Behavior
For reminder playback, VoiSome may run an Android foreground service and use wake/notification capabilities to keep reminders reliable. This is used only for app functionality, not tracking.
6. Data Sharing
VoiSome does not share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
If you use the optional export/share feature, the files you choose to share are sent only to the destination app or service you select.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
You can delete individual recordings from within the app.
Uninstalling the app removes app-local data stored by VoiSome.
If you exported files outside the app, you must delete those copies separately.
8. Security
VoiSome relies on Android app sandboxing and device-level security. Protect your device with a passcode/biometrics and keep Android up to date.
9. Children
VoiSome is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy over time. Changes are posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
